Company History
Bear Audio Visual, Inc. was established in March 1978. As the audio visual market expanded
in San Antonio there became a need for a full service audio visual company. Other audio
visual companies, in the late 70's were fragmented and did not offer full service operations to
local customers and in coming conventions. Other audiovisual companies only offered
rentals, some offered installation of audio visual equipment and still others only sold
equipment. The owners of Bear Audio Visual, Inc. want an audiovisual company that offered
Sales, Installations and Rentals, as well as other services, all under one roof.
Bear Audio Visual, Inc. started out in the 1500 block of Fredericksburg road, now known as
the Deco Distract, in a small 500 square foot building. Nine months after starting operations
Bear AV expanded into another 500 square foot building located next door to the original
building. In 1983 Bear AV outgrew the existing facilities, and moved into a 3,000 square foot
building. The company remained at this location for 5 years. In 1988 as the company
continued its upward growth, Bear AV moved into its current location, an 18,000 square foot
building. The offices are located at the corner 1602 W. Kings Hwy and Fredricksburg road,
back in the Deco District..
